Welcome to Grano.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a binding agreement between you ("User," "you") and Grano ("we," "us," "our") regarding your use of the Grano mobile application and services.
By creating an account or using Grano, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please put down the mug and step away from the app.
1. Our Mission
Grano is a platform designed to help you discover, track, and share specialty coffee experiences. Our goal is to foster a respectful, helpful, and inclusive community for coffee lovers of all levels.
2. Your Account
To use most features of Grano, you must create an account.
Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate information when signing up.
Security: You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. If you suspect someone has accessed your account, let us know immediately.
Eligibility: You must be at least 13 years old to use Grano.
3. Community Guidelines & Conduct
We are building a community rooted in respect. Grano is "Technology with a Soul," and we expect our users to act with soul, too.
You agree NOT to:
Gatekeep or Harass: We have zero tolerance for bullying, harassment, or elitism. Whether someone drinks dark roast or light roast, treat them with respect.
Post Harmful Content: Do not post content that is hate speech, violent, pornographic, or illegal.
Spam: Do not use Grano to spam users or solicit business without our permission.
Hack or Scrape: Do not attempt to reverse engineer the app, introduce viruses, or scrape our data.
We reserve the right to suspend or ban any account that violates these guidelines.
4. User-Generated Content (Your Stuff)
When you post photos, reviews, or tasting notes ("Content") on Grano:
You Own It: You retain ownership of your content.
You Grant Us a License: By posting, you grant Grano a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, reproduce, and distribute your content within the app and for marketing purposes (e.g., featuring a great review on our social media).
Responsibility: You are solely responsible for the content you post. Do not post photos you don't own or reviews that are legally defamatory.
5. Intellectual Property (Our Stuff)
The Grano name, logo, design, code, and "The Thoughtful Curator" branding are owned by us. You may not use our branding without written permission, except to share your profile or content as intended by the app's sharing features.
5.1 Copyright Infringement (DMCA)
We respect the intellectual property of others. If you believe a user has posted content that violates your copyright (e.g., a photo they do not own), please send a notice to legal@granoapp.io including:
A description of the copyrighted work.
The location (screen or username) of the infringing content in Grano.
Your contact information.
A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is unauthorized.
6. Apple App Store Terms (EULA)
Because you are downloading Grano from the Apple App Store, you agree to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the EULA, these Terms will control.
7. Beta Services (Private Alpha/Beta)
If you are using a Beta version of Grano:
"As Is": Beta versions are experimental. They may contain bugs, crash, or lose data. You use them at your own risk.
Feedback: We love feedback. By submitting ideas or suggestions, you agree that we can use them to improve the app without compensating you.
8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
WE PROVIDE GRANO "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE."
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA OR COFFEE BEANS) ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS (IF ANYTHING).
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so this section may not apply to you.
9. Third-Party Links
Grano may contain links to third-party websites (like roaster shops). We are not responsible for the content or practices of these external sites.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as Grano evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app. Continuing to use Grano after changes means you accept the new Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
